New Chandelier

Hi Everyone.
Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes.  So far so good as I am now 60 years old!  Nothing fell off my body on my birthday so it is all good lol!!!

I am hoping turning the page from a decade in my 50's to now entering my 60's will be as wonderful.

I am getting ready to head out tomorrow on our trip to Michigan.  The forecast is looking great.  High 60's next week.

For all you southern girls I know that sounds cold but to us in the Midwest that feels very warm.  You put on sweaters when it is in the 60's we fling open windows lol!

As some of you know I am working on a new living room project.  One of the new things I wanted to do in the living room was add a chandelier.

The hunt has been on for sometime to find just the right one and stay on a budget.

That has been a challenge.  The chandeliers I loved were very very expensive.  Every time I would find one I would look at the price tag and it would be $400 dollars and up.  I cannot believe how much chandeliers have gone up in price.

After striking out at a great antique shops and markets I was getting weary I would never find a sweet chandelier for my new living room decor.

Last Weekend after striking out at a very nice antique market with lots of chandeliers,   Terry and I stopped into a resale shop on the way home.

When we walked in the door right away there was this chandelier that grabbed my attention.

Here is the chandelier.  It was gold!  So of course it got painted white.  No surprise there!

The great part of this find was the price.

I was almost afraid to look at the tag knowing what the cost of the chandeliers have been priced in our area.

Terry looked at the price.  He had this look on his face.  I said oh probably expensive right?!!

He looked at me and said the tag says $46.  I said no way you must have read it wrong and it says $460.

So I took a look.  Nope it was marked $46.  I even had the sales girl come over to verify the price.  She said it is $46.

It was one of those "Start the car moments!"

We could not get that chandelier into the car fast enough.  I said lets go before they figure out they made a mistake!!!!

The new $46 chandelier is hanging over my island in the kitchen.  The chandelier I had over the island is now hanging in the living room.  We did a little switch a roo!

Here is the chandelier that was over the island.  I now have it hanging in the living room.
I had found this chunky vintage frame and thought the chunky chandelier would look better.

So this one is now in the living room and I am almost done with this room to have a reveal.  Just waiting on some slipcovers to come in.

I wanted to show you this angel.  I found her at Tuesday Morning for $20.  She was gray and not too pretty.  I brought her home and gave her a new coat of white paint.   Great score on the price and all it took was a little white paint and here she is all pretty and serene.

Have a beautiful week ahead.  I hope to find some new fun treasures on our trip to Michigan.

Happy Birthday

Today is a special day.  I am turning 60!!! I loved my 50's and look forward to entering the 60's.  Life has been a beautiful adventure and my journey here for the last 60 years has been amazing.

I am blessed with a beautiful family and beautiful friends.  That is the most precious gift.

I have to brag on my hubby just a little bit.  You all know him as Mr. JCC and that he has tools and know how to use them!  I envision decor crazy and he makes it happen.

A little something you do not know about this wonderful man.  Besides making my decor happen he also writes poetry.

For all the years I have known this man he has written me poems for all occasions and I treasure everyone.  I have a book full after knowing him for over 38 years.

He gifted me a beautiful card and birthday poem that I would like to share with you.

So today  I enter into a new journey.  I am blessed to have a beautiful family and beautiful friends.  As I told a wonderful friend that is also turning 60 in a few days.  Let's put on our invisible crowns and enjoy the journey.

Have a great day.  Let's eat Cake!!!!!

Dreaming Preview

Hello Friends.
Ohhhh I cannot say it enough.  We are so over winter here in the midwest.  Old Man Winter needs to leave!!! More snow due for us on Wednesday.  Ugh!!!  Enough is Enough!!!!

I thought I would show you the little bit of progress we have made on the backyard.  As I showed before the backyard was a mud pit since they put in the garage and driveway.

Yep here it is.  We had to put wood planks down to walk out there because of all the mud.  What little bit of grass we had needed to be torn out.  Not good.

After dodging Old Man Winter we finally had a few nice days last week to lay down some new sod.

That orange cable is the new cable that needed to be put back in since the landscaper guys cut the old one roto tilling up the ground.  Ugh!!!

I was without any TV, internet etc. for 48 hours until they could get a new cable in.  Now they have to come to bury it when the weather is a little nicer.

Where this river rock is there is going to be the new deck.  Terry and I are going to build that ourselves.

I want to use the newer composite planks that do not need any staining or painting each year.  We have pretty rough winters and with all my flowers and watering our decks always take a beating.  I heard the new composite decks are wonderful and maintenance free.

So as soon as there is no snow in the  forecast we will begin the work on the deck.

Dreaming of having a deck area for my lounge chair and flowers like I had at the old house.

I cannot wait to get my flowers going and have the backyard filled with lost of pretty flowers.  Right now I am just dreaming of a pretty summer backyard.

In the meantime while we wait for Spring to arrive and winter to finally leave.  Terry is taking me away for a week for my birthday.

We are headed to one of our favorite area's in Michigan.  The South Haven, Saugatuck area on Lake Michigan. It is one of the nicest areas to visit.  Lots of shops, great restaurants in quaint little towns.

One of my favorite shops is The Found Cottage.  Liz Marie from LizMarie blog is part owner.  You can visit Liz at her beautiful blog here.  Liz and her hubby have rehabbed an old farmhouse.  It is gorgeous.  If you would like some beautiful inspiration please visit her blog.

So many fun treasures to be found in her wonderful shop.  I cannot wait to visit.

This is the little cottage we will be staying in.  It is the sweetest little place.  It is called the Quaint Cottage and it truly is.

I am hoping we can use the bikes and hit some of the pretty trails.  Not sure with the crazy weather here.  Hoping by next week the temps will climb and no more SNOW!!!!

This is the front living area in this sweet little place.

It has a cute little kitchen for our coffee in the morning.

A pretty bedroom area.

A sweet little private hot tub off the deck area.  It is nice to be in the hot tub at the end of a long day of hiking and walking the little towns.

To sit out under the stars in the hot tub.  I love it! When it is cold outside to sit in a hot tub at night is heavenly.
So that will be a benefit of the chilly temps going on.

Here is a sneak peek at the new wallpaper I put in my office.  I just did one wall and it looks pretty neat.  I am kind of getting into wallpaper for focal points in some of my cottage rooms.

I will be off for awhile from blogging.  I am turning 60 this coming weekend.  Yikes when did this happen?!!!!  Have a party planned with my daughters and girlfriends on Saturday.  Terry is treating all of us to nice spa pedicures and a lunch after.  Should be fun.

Then we leave next week for Michigan.  I cannot wait to get away.  Just hoping and praying the weather will be decent for us.

I will be back in a few weeks and will hopefully have some new decor crazy reveals on the guest room/ office area and living room area.

Have a lovely week.

Ha! had you at Cardeliers!!! Wondering what those might be?  Well I am going to share what they are with all of you.

I was out with a friend the other day and we saw a couple of ladies pull up in their car next to us as we were waiting for this cute shop to open.  She had the most adorable little chandelier hanging from your rear view mirror.

I said to my friend I need to find out where she got that!
Since I am a  chandelier queen and have one in almost every room of my house I thought I need one for my car too!

The lady told me her son bought it for her off Amazon.  Since I have an Amazon Prime account I took a look.

I love that they are called Cardeliers!  To cute!

Aren't they cute to hang in your car.   I ordered a few extra's to share and gift with some of you.   If you would like a chance to win one of these just leave me a comment of why you would need this cute chandy for your car too.  I will pick a few of you to share these with.

In the meantime I thought I would show you some other car bling I found.  I am not compensated in any way for any of these.  Just thought they were cute and wanted to share.

If you would like this you can find it on Amazon here.

How about some eyelashes for your car.  Come on girls how cute are these!  Hey we name our cars so I think we should bling them up a little bit.  If you would like a set of these you can go here.

How about the good ole reindeer costume for your car.  My daughter had these on her car at Christmas time.  Soooo cute.  You can get these here.

How about these cute refillable air fresheners that fit in your car vents.  So cute.  You can find these here.

How about this cute tissue holder for the back of the head rest.  You can find different designs of these here.

How about some pretty personalized car mats.  These girls on Etsy have lots of different styles to choose from.  You can see their Etsy site here.

How about these fun personalized car coasters.  There are several peeps on Etsy that make different car coasters.  This was just one example and you can find these here.

One of my favorite things to have in my car is my Pikle pack.  These come in several designs and you can pack them with first aid to beauty aids to mom aids.  I have given these as gifts in the past and love that you can put them in your car or purse or even carry them as a cross body purse.  They even have versions for men.  If you want to prepare for a time that you find yourself in a pickle and would like to see the different pikle's you can go here.

These are just a few of the fun and pretty things to bling up your car.  Hey a lot of us live in our cars with running errands, taking kids to different activities to just enjoying a fun drive.  We might as well personalize and bling up our vehicles!

Have a great start to the new week.  I am still working on some changes in my office area and living room.  Hope to have those to show soon.

Also don't forget if you would like a chance at winning one of these Cardeliers leave me a comment on why your sweet ride needs a chandelier.   If you are a no reply please make sure you leave your email address so I can get a hold of you if you win.  Good Luck.

Magazine Rack

Happy Sunday
Hope your weekend is going great.

I was minding my own business in the Home Goods the other day.  Just taking long romantic walks up and down the aisles when this rack caught my attention.

Yep! I stopped in my tracks for this sweet numbered wire rack.  I had a good idea of what I wanted to do with this.  First though it needed some white paint lol!

So this rack got a nice coat of white paint and then I moved it into my office area.

Now I have a storage place for all my magazines and catalogs.

Sometimes those nice romantic strolls down the aisles of Home Goods pay off!!!

Have a great start to the new week.
My living room project is coming out of my head and into my decor!  I just have to wait on some slipcovers being made for me and then I will have the reveal for you.

Chippy Arch Window Headboard

I have had this old chippy arch window for a long time.  I love this window and have moved it all around my homes for all kinds of different looks.

It is really a great piece to have for a new look in different rooms when I feel I need a little change.
Since I do not have a headboard on this twin bed I thought this window might be a great decor piece to hang over the head of the bed.

It compliments my angel picture.

This is the section in my 2nd bedroom that acts as three rooms in my house.  I have this area as a guest room and another area is my office and also a small area that is a make up area.  When you live in a small home you have to be creative and utilize every inch of living space.

Wishing all of you a great day today.
